At temperatures above 125°C, the strength of 2024 alloy is higher than that of 7075 alloy. The formability of hot state, annealed state and new quenched state is good, and the strengthening effect of heat treatment is remarkable, but the heat treatment process requires strict requirements. Corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by covering with pure aluminum; cracks are easy to occur during welding, but special welding or riveting can be used.
